Greg’s 18 years of experience as a Financial Advisor is a strong assurance that Cavalier Investments recognizes the needs of advisors. Greg was instrumental in the design of the Cavalier Mutual Fund strategies and for the majority of the relationships with the Fund’s Signal providers and Sub-advisors. Prior to founding Cavalier and FolioMetrix/RiskX, Greg was the co-founder and President of Tagge*Rutherford Financial Group, a financial services firm founded in 1992. Greg holds a designation as a Certified Financial Planner™ and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska – Omaha and a Master of Business Administration from Golden Gate University. Greg resides in Carmel, California with his wife, Jennifer and their children. He has been involved on many charitable boards and community organizations. Greg continues to find time to coach youth sports including baseball, basketball and football and enjoys the game of golf although it provides a considerable amount of frustration.
Scott Wetherington, CFA®
Scott is an accomplished member of the Cavalier team with 25 years of experience in portfolio management, research and investment strategies. Scott serves as Chief Investment Officer and is responsible for leading the research and investment strategies for Cavalier’s Mutual Funds. He also serves as Portfolio Manager for Cavalier’s Tactical Economic SMA, Cavalier Multi Strategist Fund, Cavalier Hedged High Income Fund and the NE Index Fund. Prior to Cavalier, Scott served as Senior Portfolio Manager and Chief Investment Strategist for Linder Capital Advisors. Scott is a frequent speaker at conferences on Portfolio Management and has been honored as a guest speaker at Georgia Institute of Technology. Scott earned his Bachelor of Business Administration at James Madison University. He resides in Georgia with his family. Scott also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA) and is a member of the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals.
Kevin Hanney, CIMA
Director of National Sales for Cavalier Investments and Co-Founder of the Distribution Cooperative; has over 30 years’ experience in the investment management industry. Kevin has led national sales and relationship management teams for multi-billion dollar organizations. His leadership extends across multiple product offerings including separately managed accounts, mutual funds and annuities. Kevin’s tremendous relationship skills have afforded him the unique opportunity to work with all levels of industry personnel including institutional leadership, financial advisors and investment managers. He has built hundreds of significant relationships in the wire house, independent broker dealer, bank, investment platform, RIA and insurance networks. Kevin is a graduate of Colgate University earning a BA in Economics and received his MBA from Pace University in New York City. Kevin enjoys golf and is an avid sports fan along with being a proud father of four children that have graduated or are currently attending universities consisting of Notre Dame, Florida and Florida State.
Mike Knobbe joined Cavalier Investments concentrating on new business development and narrowing the firm's focus, emphasizing portfolio risk management. Mike spent the majority of his 30 year career successfully managing both his and clients' multi-billion dollar commodity businesses. An expert in managing risk, Mike helps financial advisors understand, and communicate, that adding risk in up markets while reducing risk in turbulent down markets, is what enhances client relationships and sets them apart over full market cycles. Mike grew up in Iowa and has made Omaha home for most of adult life. He and his wife Carol have been married for 30 years and have two beautiful daughters. A graduate of San Diego State University, Mike enjoys golf and traveling with friends and family. Mike is a tremendous communicator and has given thousands of presentations over the years. He is a great resource in helping advisors attract new clients through seminars and workshops.
